Description
No. 25 Castle Street is an office building from the 1880s that spans the entry to Sweeting Street. It has three storeys, a basement, and an attic, featuring five bays. The basement includes a shop, while the ground floor has a three-bay central section that projects forward, with a round-arched entrance accessed by steps, flanked by pilasters and a carved frieze. The first floor is adorned with windows and four pairs of attached Corinthian columns, along with a continuous frieze and a dentilled cornice. The second floor features round-arched windows set within aedicules. The top floor rises only above the central three bays and includes a dentilled cornice and a segmental pediment, topped with five acroteria.
