Description

The Yorkshire Building Society is a bank building constructed in the 1840s. It is made of stone and stands three storeys tall, with a width of three bays. The ground floor features four granite pilasters, a heavy stone cornice, and a balcony supported by consoles. The upper storeys are highlighted by a tetrastyle Corinthian portico with fluted three-quarter columns and a carved tympanum. The upper two storeys contain sash windows set within moulded architraves. The building is topped with a decorated parapet and a large panelled acroterion.
