Description
Tue Brook House is a farmhouse dated 1615, located on the north side of West Derby Road in Liverpool. It is constructed of painted brick with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building has a hall with cross wings and is one storey high, with two-storey flanking projecting gabled bays. It has flush quoins and double-chamfered windows with five lights, which have brick label moulds and leaded glazing. The entrance, located to the left of the right wing, has a lintel inscribed with "I.M./1615". The house also includes wooden gutters and downpipes, along with a brick ridge stack. The interior is said to contain a Priest's hiding place in the chimney breast, although it has not been inspected. Tue Brook House is noted as the oldest dated house in Liverpool.
