Description

The stable block in Norris Green Park is a mid-19th century structure built of brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features five bays, with the central bay projecting forward beneath an open pediment. There is a band above the ground floor, a top frieze cornice, and a blocking course, along with rusticated quoins. The central bay is made of stone, showcasing channelled rustication and an elliptical arched carriage entrance. The pediment displays a coat of arms, which includes a fimbrated bend with three roundels, a crest of a falcon on a stump, and the motto "Alte Volo." The flanking bays feature first-floor blind lunettes with Gibbs surrounds. The returns of the building are similar, with the right return having a rear range of five bays.
