Description
The stable block at Bowden Park, built around 1800, is constructed from squared rubble stone and features a low-pitched slate hipped roof. It is two stories high with a central pediment and projecting wings. The building has flush quoins, a raised plinth, and a band at the first floor level. The front has nine windows, including six-pane upper windows and a central ground floor area with five high flat-headed coach entries divided by square piers. To the left are two sash windows, while the right side has a sash window and a door. The central three bays project slightly and include a pediment, a clock in the pediment, and an octagonal timber cupola on the ridge. The projecting wings each have four windows; the right wing features an end-wall arch over double doors, and the left wing has an end-wall arched window set in an arched recess. Both ends of the wings have a band and a 12-pane window above.
