Description

The village pound and stocks in West Derby Village, possibly dating from the late 18th century, were likely planted as a garden to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII and may have been re-sited. The structure features red sandstone walls over 5 feet high, which now exist on two sides, while the front two sides are enclosed by iron railings. Inside, there are cast iron stocks that include a long iron bench and three pairs of leg stocks.
