Description
The Hunting Lodge is a public house located in West Derby Village, dating from the early 19th century with later additions. The building is constructed from painted brick and features planted timbering above the ground floor, topped with slate roofs. It stands two storeys high, with an attic in the first bay and consists of two gabled bays. The first bay has sill bands, and the timbering in this bay is likely a recent addition from 1984, while the second bay showcases 19th-century timbering with decorative bargeboards. The windows are tripartite sashes with glazing bars, and there is a canted bay window on the ground floor of the second bay. The central entrance is round-headed, flanked by panelled pilasters, an archivolt, and a complete fanlight. The building is listed primarily for its group value.
