Description
The Old Court House is a Grade II* listed building located in West Derby Village. It was constructed in 1662 as a court house for the Manor of West Derby. The building is made of stone and features a stone tile roof. It is a single storey with a bay and has a prominent five-light window that includes chamfered mullions and iron bars, along with external shutters. The entrance is segmental headed and has a studded door. There are additional five-light windows on the left side and at the rear of the building. Inside, the court house contains a Steward's bench and Jury benches with backs made of turned rods surrounding a table. A small room at the back has pigeon holes for storing records, and the furnishings are likely from the same period as the building.
