Description

This is a row of three houses, numbers 2 to 6 West Derby Village, built between 1861 and 1870 in the 1860s and 70s, to a design by Eden Nesfield. The houses are constructed of red brick with blue brick banding, topped with a slate roof and red tile cresting. They are one storey high with an attic, and each house has three bays. The eaves are cogged. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars and chamfered reveals. The first bay of each house features a tripartite sash window with a flush relieving arch above. There are three gabled half-dormers, each with a paired sash window.

Number 4 has an entrance with a flush relieving arch and a stone lintel, accompanied by a small window to the side. The entrance to number 6 is similar, featuring a recessed tympanum. The side elevation forms the return to number 2. A chamfered angle displays a corbelled shaft with niches containing the Sefton arms and a coronetted "S." The building has cross-axial and end stacks (chimneys).
