Description

The Mac Lennan Monument, located to the northwest of the crossing of the main paths in Anfield Cemetery, is a Grade II listed structure. This monument, designed in the form of an Egyptian pylon, commemorates Alexander Mac Lennan, who died in 1893, and Isabella Mac Lennan, who died in 1896. It is constructed from grey granite and features clasping buttresses and a frieze with coving above. The monument has a raised slab on top, also with coving, and its sides include rectangular recesses adorned with engraved Egyptian-style decoration. An inscription panel is located on the south side of the monument.
