Description
This is a house located at 293 Edge Lane, dated 1846 on the gable to the left return. It is built from brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with a stone plinth and rusticated quoins at the end bays, while the centre bay is recessed. There is a cornice and parapet above.
On the ground floor, there is a projecting six-light cross window to the left and a canted two-storey bay window to the right of the porch. The porch has round-arched openings on the front and returns, with flat pilasters that have strap work bands, a consoled cornice, and a pierced balcony above. The first floor features a triangular oriel window in the first bay, which has mullions and a transom at the upper level, a pierced balustrade above, and strapwork cresting. The end bay has a shaped gable.
The window frames and door have mostly been removed since 1984. The left return has four gables of varying heights, one of which has a stack with a blind cross. The right return features two end stacks. The left return also displays the date 1846 on the gable and rainwater head.
