Description

This is a lodge, built between 1836 and 1837. It is constructed of ashlar. The building is two storeys high and has four bays. A plinth runs along the base, with a sill band on the first floor. A top frieze, cornice and blocking course complete the top of the facade. The end bays project forward and are flanked by flat pilasters; the ground floor plinths are battered, and the first floor has panels. The central bays have casement windows on both floors, the first floor window to the right is extended downwards, cutting through the panel. A central projecting element features a panel and Greek hood. Flanking screen walls are rusticated and terminate in panelled, battered piers with lotus capitals and caps. Two entrances are topped by flat architraves and Greek hoods. The returns have a similar five-bay design, with windows in architraves. The rear elevation features two ground floor canted bays.
