Description
The Corporation Offices, originally a house, date from the early 19th century and are now used as offices. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It has two storeys and three bays. Notable architectural details include a first-floor sill band and a pediment, as well as quoins. The windows are sashed with architraves and lack glazing bars, with a paired window in the ground floor of the third bay. The central entrance is round-headed and has a keyed architrave, spandrels, a pulvinated frieze, and a cornice, leading to a four-panel door. The right side of the building, which faces the street, has two bays and is similar in style. This structure is part of a complete street group located on what was originally the main village street.
