Description

The village cross at the junction with Speke Road is a Grade II listed structure, with its date of origin uncertain but restored in 1913. It features a stone shaft set on three steps, topped with a restored cross. There is a bronze board on the front of the cross that bears the inscription "WOOLTON/VILLE CROSS/CRUX POTESTAS/DEI", while the rear has the inscription "HANC CRUCEM ANTIQUAM/TEMPORIS CURSU DILAPIDATAM/ARTHURIS.
