Description
School Cottages, located on Knowlsey Lane, are likely from the late 18th century. Originally built as Knowsley Boys School by Lord Derby, the building has since been converted into a pair of detached cottages. The structure features good brickwork and has a symmetrical design with two storeys. It includes two wide-spaced casement windows, with three lights above and four lights below. A hipped brick porch with a studded door sits under a depressed cusped head, and there is a tablet above the door. At each end of the front, there are single-storey lean-to porches. The cottages have slate roofs and tall, chamfered gabled stacks.
