Description
Clarkson's Farmhouse and the adjoining barn, dating from the early 18th century, are constructed from slobbered rubble and feature a corrugated iron roof over thatch. The farmhouse is two storeys high with two bays. The windows are modern and have plain reveals, while the door on the left also has plain reveals. There is a chimney on the left gable with a brick cap. The barn, located to the right, has part of its front wall covered by a later lean-to. To the right of the barn is a wide entrance with plain reveals and a timber lintel, and on the left, within the lean-to, is another door with plain reveals. Inside the farmhouse, the left-hand room contains two chamfered main ceiling joists, exposed common joists, and a floor made of sandstone flags. There are two original doors with raised and fielded panels leading to the two right-hand rooms. The barn features a single truss with a high collar and one remaining queen strut from a pair.
