Description

Preesall Mill is a windmill tower built in 1839. It is constructed of rendered brick and has a circular plan with battered walls. The mill now rises through the asbestos roof of a modern steel and brick warehouse. The window frames feature segmental heads. From the east, two bays are visible, with four storeys above the warehouse roof. The left-hand bay has a blank upper storey, while the lower storey of the right-hand bay is covered by the roof. Inside, a pine main joist in the ground floor ceiling is painted with the date '1839'.
