Description
Danson's Farmhouse is a house built in 1709. It features cobble construction, with walls later raised in brick and brick chimneys. The house has a three-unit lobby-entry plan and is two storeys high with three bays. The windows have plain reveals and projecting sills, with those on the ground floor having segmental heads. All windows are fitted with horizontal sliding sashes. The entrance door, located under a glazed porch between the second and third bays, has a rendered surround and a plaque above it inscribed 'TBA 1709'. There are chimneys on the left-hand gable and aligned with the door.
Inside, the middle room contains a hearth with a firehood bressumer that is ovolo moulded and features stepped run-out stops. The two main axial ceiling joists are similarly moulded. At the rear of the hearth, which is now hidden behind a later cupboard, there is said to be a spice cupboard door inscribed 'TBA 1710'.
