Description

High House is a late 17th-century house with an adjoining barn that is probably from the early 19th century. The house is built of slobbered rubble and has a slate roof with brick chimneys. It has two storeys and features windows that are rebated and chamfered with mullions. On the ground floor, there are two windows with lowered sills, hoods, and a central mullion remaining. Above these, on the first floor, are two windows with three lights. To the right of the left-hand bay, there are two stair windows, one above the other; the lower one has two lights with a hood, while the upper one has one light. To the left of the right-hand window is a door with plain reveals, a hood, and a lintel that has an illegible inscription. This doorway was originally located on the right side of the facade and opened into a lobby. The house has end chimneys.

The adjoining barn, located to the right, has an asbestos sheet roof. It features a wide entrance under a canopy with cheeks and an outer stone lintel. To the left, there is a window with plain reveals within a blocked doorway, and a later doorway is situated to its right. Inside the barn, the main room includes a chamfered firehood bressumer, a heck post with a decorated top, two chamfered and stopped axial main joists, and two moulded panelled doors with wooden handles and catches that open into the left-hand rooms.
