Description
Longfield House, built in 1667, is a historic house located with a stable adjoining to the northwest. The structure is made of sandstone rubble and features a slate roof with brick chimneys. It has a baffle-entry plan and consists of three bays, with an additional bay added to the right. The windows are rebated and chamfered, although the ground floor has had its mullions removed. The first-floor windows include three-light and four-light designs, with a horizontal sash featuring plain reveals in the right-hand bay of the original house.
The addition to the house includes a modern lean-to against its front wall, a modern window with plain reveals to its left, and a three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window on the first floor. The door located between the second and third bays has a chamfered surround and a battlemented lintel inscribed with '1667 WGE'. There are chimneys positioned to the right and aligned with the door. The stable, which is set back to the left, features two doors with plain reveals and a window situated between them. On the first floor of the stable, there is a pitching door, along with a window to its right that also has plain reveals.
