Description
Fellside Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1707 on the lintel and has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features a slate roof with two 19th-century stone chimneys. The building has a three-bay baffle-entry plan and a continuous lean-to addition at the rear. It stands two storeys tall, with a doorway aligned with the ridge chimney at the junction of the second and third bays. This doorway has a shaped lintel with raised lettering in the center that reads "W." There are three windows on each floor, all of which were originally three-light windows with chamfered mullions but have been altered to two-light sliding sashes with glazing bars, including a changed opening in the center at ground floor.
Inside, the former rear wall of the housepart in the middle bay has a window and firewindow that have been altered into cupboards, with a salt cupboard to the left of the fireplace. There is a wattle and daub partition leading to the service rooms in the first bay, and a spiral newel staircase located at the rear of the first bay. The third bay features stop-chamfered beams with run-out stops.
