Description

Mill House is a house dated 1804, located on Scarisbrick Southport Road in Pinfold. The building is constructed from coursed squared sandstone and brick, topped with a tiled roof. Originally, it had two bays, but a third bay was added at the left end. The house is two storeys tall and was originally almost symmetrical. It features a round-headed doorway that is offset to the left of centre, complete with imposts and a keystone. There are two rectangular windows on each floor, all of which are new 2-light casements with straight sills and splayed stone heads. Above the doorway on the first floor, there is a raised quatrefoil that bears the inscribed date "1804." The single bay addition to the left is of less architectural interest and includes a gable chimney.
