Description

The Old Vicarage is a vicarage that has been converted into a private dwelling. It was built around 1851 and has undergone slight alterations. The building is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a slate roof. It has a slightly irregular rectangular plan beneath a two-span roof, designed in the Tudor Gothic style.

The structure is two storeys high with attics and has a window arrangement of 1:2:1. To the left is a gable, and to the right is a short projecting wing that includes coupled small and large gables. This wing contains a porch with a segmental-pointed arched doorway featuring a hoodmould, a 2-light mullioned window above it, and a blank shield in the gable. The main gable of the wing has 6-light mullion-and-transom windows on both the ground and first floors, along with a one-light attic window.

The short main range features a 2-centred arched stair-window adorned with tracery and stained glass, along with a hoodmould that has foliated stops. Most of the other windows on the facade are also 2-light mullioned windows. The left return wall has a doorway at ground floor level and three windows on the first floor, while the right-hand return wall includes a canted bay window. The rear of the building features a large rectangular bay window, all designed in a similar style.

Inside, there is a dog-legged closed string staircase with turned balusters.
