Description

Deans Farmhouse, now a house, was built in 1768 and altered subsequently. It is constructed of white-painted roughcast on brick, with a stone slate roof. The farmhouse has a double-depth, double-fronted plan. It is two storeys high with an attic, and has a symmetrical facade with two windows. A central doorway is topped with a segmental arch, and the windows are also segmental-headed, with raised sills. The windows now have 20th-century casements, but originally had a six-light mullion-and-transom design. A shouldered datestone is positioned centrally at first floor level, inscribed "S. W E. 1768." There are gable chimneys. A small attic window is located in the right-hand gable, with altered glazing.
