Description
No. 92 Fox Lane is a cottage that is part of a group of five Farington Almshouse Trust Cottages, which includes Nos. 94, 96, 98, and 100. The cottage is constructed of brick and has a graded slate roof. It has a rectangular plan and is symmetrical, featuring one and a half storeys. The gable chimney stacks are prominent, with the one on the right projecting and breaking through the eaves at the apex.
The entrance is marked by a gabled porch with a round-arched opening, adorned with wavy bargeboards and a finial. On either side of the door, there is a three-light casement window, each with a chamfered brick head and a straight drip-mould above. The cottage also has two gabled attic dormers, each featuring two-light casements, wavy bargeboards, and finials. The overhanging eaves of the gables also have similar bargeboards. Additionally, there is a small diamond-shaped painted hatchment attached at the first floor level of the chimney stack on the right end.
