Description

This is a rectangular gravestone located 2 metres from the south-east corner of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary in Penwortham. It is set on a base made of two rectangular stones and is dated 1686. The gravestone features raised capital letters that read: "HERE LIETH. THE/BODY . OF EDWAR/ D.HOLLINHURST/OF . BOATHOUSE/WHO . DIED.THE:/TENTH . AND . WA/S . BURIED . THE . T/WELFTH . DAY . OF APRIL . 1686."
