Description
No. 5 Stanley Terrace is a town house, now divided into flats, built around 1830 and altered since. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. The building has a double-depth, single-fronted plan with a back extension and stands three storeys high over a cellar. The facade features two windows and an elliptical-headed doorway located to the right, which is accessed by two steps. The doorcase is adorned with engaged Tuscan columns, an entablature, and a cornice. The windows have raised sills and wedge lintels, with the ground floor window now flanked by round-headed lights, all featuring altered glazing. The building has a plain brick parapet with stone coping. It is of similar scale to the adjacent terrace of Nos. 1 to 4, but has different proportions.
