Description
No. 1 Waltons Parade is a town house, now functioning as a hotel annexe, built around 1830 and altered since. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. It features a double-depth, double-fronted plan and has two storeys over a cellar. The facade is symmetrical with three windows, a first-floor sill-band, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice. The elliptical-headed doorway is framed by engaged Ionic columns and includes a plain frieze, a moulded cornice with a blocking course, a cavetto surround, and a plain fanlight. The windows have raised sills and wedge lintels, all are sashed without glazing bars. The building has gable chimneys, and the left side has altered windows, while the rear features some 12-pane sashes.
