Description

The tower of the Roman Catholic Church of St Mary was built between 1962 and 1964 by the architectural firm Weightman and Bullen, with J. Faczynski as the partner in charge. It is constructed of reinforced concrete and features four piers that taper towards the top, where they connect to horizontal members that culminate in a cross. The tower consists of five stages of varying heights, with the fourth stage having solid sides and tiny irregular windows, and a bell situated above it. This tower is an integral part of the design of the Roman Catholic Church of St Mary, which is notable for being a circular church with a central altar and contains some fine works of art.
