Description
Higher Chapel Hill Farmhouse is a derelict farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof with gable chimneys. The building has an L-shaped plan with two bays and a single depth, along with a large full-height rear extension attached to the second bay. It stands two storeys high, with a plain doorway offset to the left of centre. To the left of the doorway are two-light windows, while to the right are three-light windows, both featuring thin chamfered mullions and thin hoodmoulds. Above these are two square windows, although most of the window openings are lacking glazing. The left return wall and the rear re-entrant are covered by a large modern lean-to. The rear gable of the extension has three rectangular openings at ground floor level and two above.
