Description

This is a late 18th-century house and shop. It is built of square coursed stone with sandstone dressings and has a slate roof, with a hipped roof on the left-hand side. The building is two storeys high and originally two bays wide, with a one-bay extension to the right, which spans a yard entrance. The windows have simple stone surrounds and are sash windows, with glazing bars, except for the ground-floor window on the left, which is a sash window, and the window above the yard entrance, which is a sash window without glazing bars. A plain stone surround frames the door, located between the two main bays, with the upper four panels being raised and fielded. A worn sandstone plaque, now illegible, is positioned above the door on the first floor. The building has a moulded eaves cornice, and chimneys are located to the right of the first and second bays.
