Description

The structure consists of two gate piers and a wall that extends from the south-west corner of the infirmary, running south-east and then returning north-east in front of the Church of St. Peter. The wall is made of sandstone rubble and features coping. The gate piers date from around 1700 and were relocated from the site of the current church in 1799. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar and are square in shape, each supported by a scroll on the outer side with a smaller scroll above. At the top, there is a broken segmental pediment adorned with an urn and festoon.
