Description

This milestone, dated 1766, is located at a road junction 540 metres north-east of Higher Hodder Bridge in Great Mitton. It is made of sandstone and has a square shape with a shaped top. The west face of the milestone displays the inscriptions: "To Preston 10M. To Gisburn M8". The north face reads: "To Lancaster 16M. To Whalley M3. IS (?) 1766".
