Description

This barn, located approximately 10 metres north of Harrop Hall, likely dates from the early 19th century and incorporates some earlier architectural features. It is constructed of squared coursed sandstone and has a slate roof. The west wall features a doorway with a moulded stone surround, above which is a plaque inscribed 'RL:LL 1719'. To the left of the doorway is a window framed by punched stone, and to the right is an outshut with a stone slate roof. The south gable wall includes a door with a chamfered surround and a pitching hole above it with plain reveals. The north gable has a round pitching hole with a plain stone surround. This barn is listed for its group value context.
