Description
The Bayley Arms is a public house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of furrowed sandstone ashlar and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys, with the central two-bay section projecting. This section includes end stacks, furrowed quoins, and a cyma-moulded stone cornice gutter. The windows are sashed and have plain stone surrounds, and the central door also features a plain stone surround.
To the right (south) is an additional bay made of squared coursed sandstone, likely a later addition, which has plain stone surrounds for its sashed windows and a gable stack. To the left is a former barn that has a blocked doorway, now converted into a window with a plain stone surround. On the right side, there is a wide entrance that now contains a smaller doorway, which is topped by an elliptical arch with punched voussoirs. Above this entrance is a sashed window with a plain stone surround.
