Description

This garden urn, dating from around 1865, is located on a pedestal approximately 2 meters southwest of the terrace steps on the upper terrace of Miller Park in Preston. The pedestal is made of sandstone ashlar and measures about 0.5 meters square and 1.5 meters high. It features a moulded base and cap, along with panelled sides. The large chalice-shaped urn, which is now painted white, has relief decorations that include acanthus leaves, running vines, small figures, and ammonite handles. This urn is part of a set of six that line the upper terrace.
