Description
This is a barn located approximately 25 metres south-west of Fisher's Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century or earlier, with some alterations. The barn is cruck-framed and clad in a mix of handmade brick and modern common brick, topped with a corrugated sheet roof. It consists of four bays, featuring a wagon entrance in the third bay, which is flanked by lean-to extensions. The north gable wall, made of old brick, has three doorways with sandstone lintels, with the first doorway opening into the side of the extension, and a round pitching hole for the loft. The exterior is otherwise of little interest.
Inside, there are three full cruck trusses, complete with collars, yokes, spurs, and dorsals, as well as windbracing to the purlins. The third truss includes a tie-beam, while the second truss has vacant housings for a tie; the lower part of the first truss was not inspected, and the original rafters are missing.
