Description
This building, known as 1-3 Carry Lane, was originally Carry Bridge Hall and has been converted into three cottages. It is dated 1702, as indicated by the inscription on the moulded lintel in the porch. The structure is made of stone and features a stone slate roof with stone coping and moulded kneelers. It has a three-cell, double-depth plan and includes a jettied porch. The original doorway has been blocked and turned into a window, with the lintel moulding continuing around the jambs. There is one three-light window with a stepped head and a moulded and returned dripstone. A dovecote is located in the apex of the roof. To the left of the porch are four bays, each containing one cross window, and there is an 18th-century doorway in the third bay. A continuous dripstone over the ground and first-floor windows creates a string course. The two bays to the right of the porch are similar but include a glazed extension adjoining the porch. There is also a single-storey extension to the left, which is not included in the listing.
