Description

This is a 17th-century milestone located in the southeast corner of the garden at Lane End Farmhouse, No. 245. The rectangular stone pillar stands approximately 2 feet 6 inches tall and is likely in its original position. The inscribed lettering on three faces is mostly obscured, but some details are still visible. On the southern face, the inscription reads "To/Skipton/Ms 6" with a hand pointing east, while the western face shows "To/Chitherow/Ms 6" with a hand pointing west.
