Description
Coates Hall is a large house dating from the early 18th century, which has now been divided into four dwellings. The building is constructed of rubble and features a stone slate roof. It stands three storeys high and has a symmetrical façade, with gables divided into three sections, the two end sections projecting forward. The house has seven bays, each containing a cross window with flat mullions and moulded architraves arranged in a 2:3:2 pattern. There is an oculus in each gable, topped with a ball finial at the peak. The central doorway is elaborate, featuring a pediment supported by coupled, fluted columns, with the lower third of the columns being reeded. The capitals are composite, and there is continuous ring moulding on the frieze.
