Description

Nichol House Farmhouse, along with a cottage (numbered 28) and a barn, forms a single range of buildings. The farmhouse is likely 17th century, while the cottage and barn date to the 18th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble with large squared quoins on the farmhouse and barn. They have gables with coping stones. Originally, the farmhouse had an end baffle entry, and the plan is now L-shaped.

The ground floor of the farmhouse features a plain doorway, a chamfered door with a semi-circular head, and a 5-light window with splayed heads, sills, and mullions, all with semi-circular heads to the lights. A similar 5-light window sits above, alongside a 19th-century sash window and a single-light window with a semi-circular head and glazing bars. A ridge stack is present. To the right of the farmhouse is the cottage, featuring 18th-century windows and a plain door. The barn has a segmental arched cart entry.
