Description

Far Wanless Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse with a later 17th-century outshut, altered in the mid-18th century. The farmhouse is rendered with cement and has a stone slate roof with coping and gutter corbels. It has a three-cell linear plan. The ground floor features a 19th-century window, a doorway with chamfered jambs and a chamfered Tudor arched head, and another doorway dated RA 1753 (though this may be a later addition). The second doorway has pilasters, an entablature, and a segmental pediment. To the right are a four-light window and a five-light window, both with hood moulds. The first floor has one 19th-century window, two three-light windows, two two-light windows, and a single-light window with a round head. The right-hand return features a projecting chimney breast. There are two chimney stacks on tabled bases. A rear wing has a broad coped gable with kneelers and a stepped five-light window.
