Description

This milestone, located on the south bank of the Lancaster Canal, dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone. It has a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The east face of the milestone features the number '12' incised within a sunken oval, while the west face displays the number '15'. It is situated 130 metres east of the Tewitfield Old Turnpike Bridge.
