Description

Beaumont Grange is a house dating from the early 19th century. The exterior is rendered and scored, with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. The house is symmetrical, arranged over two storeys, with a central bay rising to two-and-a-half stories, comprising three bays. The central, gabled bay projects and features a single-storey porch constructed of ashlar, with diagonal buttresses, corner pinnacles, battlements, and a 4-centred door head with a hood mould. The windows have deep, chamfered surrounds, with glazing bars. Ground-floor windows have hood moulds and wooden mullions and transoms. First-floor windows have wooden mullions, except for the central one, which has a hood mould and sash window. Below the central gable is a small window with a chamfered surround and a semi-circular head. The gable itself is finished with three finials and small gablets. Stacks are present on the gables and on each side of the central bay, each featuring diagonal caps to the flues. Flanking the central block are pavilions shaped as squat, battlemented towers with battered walls and a single, chamfered window surround in the front wall. Screen walls connect these pavilions to the main house, each incorporating a chamfered doorway with a 4-centred head. A rear wing features chamfered surrounds to sashed windows with glazing bars.
