Description
Carus Lodge Cottage is a lodge built around 1840. It is constructed from snecked sandstone rubble and features a hipped slate roof. The cottage is a single storey and has a canted bay at the north end of the facade, which includes three 2-light chamfered mullioned windows with labels and stops. To the south of the bay, there is a wooden porch with carved bargeboards, and next to it is a 3-light chamfered mullioned window with labels and stops. The north wall has 2-light mullioned windows that include cast iron decorative glazing bars, which are also found in the right-hand window of the bay. The southern end of the house extends westward as a wing, featuring a 3-light chamfered mullioned window in its south wall. There is a chimney located to the north of the porch and another on the south wall.
