Description
No. 19 Main Street is a house dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is built of roughcast rubble and has a slate roof. The house is two storeys tall and consists of two bays. The windows feature painted stone surrounds and a mix of timber casements and sashes. The right-hand bay has rebated and chamfered surrounds with central mullions, and the ground floor window was formerly a three-light window. The central doorway has chamfered jambs that rise to form a triangle on the lintel. There are chimneys on both the left and right sides of the house.
To the left, there is a single-storey addition with a monopitch roof, currently used as a coalhouse. Adjacent to the main house, there is a doorway with a painted stone surround and a re-set datestone above it inscribed with '1633 EC TC'. Inside, the house features exposed main ceiling beams, a 20th-century fireplace against the chimney breast in the living room, and two 18th-century six-panelled doors leading from the living room into the kitchen and parlour.
