Description
The Lodge to Heysham Head House is an entrance lodge built in the early to mid-19th century. It features a roughcast exterior with sandstone ashlar quoins and an embattled parapet. The building has a hipped roof, which originally had a slate covering that has since been removed. It stands two storeys high, with the north facade comprising three bays. A central elliptical sandstone archway marks the entrance over the drive. The windows are of two lights, with chamfered surrounds and label moulds, although all were formerly located in the right-hand bay. There are two chimneys on the ridge. The left-hand return wall has two bays with similar windows, but some timber sashes remain.
