Description
14 Queen Street is a former house, now used as an office, dating from around 1800, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar in narrow courses and features slate roofs. It has a double-depth plan with a central doorway, gable chimney stacks, and a rear extension to the right. The structure comprises three storeys above cellars and is three bays wide. All openings have plain reveals, with deep stones scored horizontally to match the coursing of the stonework. The recessed doorway is topped with a simple cornice supported by plain consoles. The door features a rectangular overlight and is a late 20th-century replacement with nine raised and fielded panels. The ground floor windows are glazed with a single pane, the first-floor windows have four-pane sashes, and the second-floor windows have nine-pane sashes.
