Description
3 and 5 Queen Square are two houses, likely originally service buildings for No. 1 Queen Square, now used as a house and office. They date from the late 18th century and were altered in the 19th century. The buildings are constructed of sandstone ashlar in narrow courses and have a hipped slate roof on the left side. The design is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and three bays, with chamfered quoins and a cornice. The windows have plain stone surrounds. On the ground floor, there are paired sash windows without glazing bars, separated by flat-faced mullions, and a blind panel in a stone surround in the central bay. The first-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The doorways, located at the outer sides of the facade, have plain stone surrounds, four-panel doors, and plain overlights. The left-hand return wall has a two-storey loading slot with a stone surround under a projecting gable, which is now blocked and contains a first-floor window.
