Description

A house, built in the early 19th century and later altered in the 20th century, located on Queen Street, Lancaster. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar with a slate roof and comprises three storeys above a basement, with two bays. The windows have plain reveals with projecting sills, and contain 20th-century glazing bar top-hung casements. The doorway, positioned in the right-hand bay, features a simple cornice and a six-panel door with an overlight. Access is gained via a left-hand flight of four steps, incorporating nosings and cast-iron railings at the top. The railings have stick balusters, ball finials on the standards, and central panels on the front and side with a pattern of intersecting arcs. The building has no chimneys. This property demonstrates group value as part of a cohesive terrace.
